The DERM 102/A942 does not require a grounding pad/plate.
The DERM 102/A942 is a ground referenced unit that uses the patient’s body resistance as the ground.
Occasionally, you may have a patient that do not have good grounding resistance – then you would have (2) options.
- You can touch the patient and use your body resistance.
- Use the optional metal grounding plate. This requires Ultrasound gel on the metal plate if placing it on the patients skin or you can place under the patients buttock or thigh with their clothes on.
The grounding pad is optional. The DERM 102/A942 uses the metal A802EU grounding plate, it does not come with the DERM 102/A942 desiccator.
